THE COMMISSION

I N Q U I R Y | Begin by reaching out and telling me about your celebration. This gives me a first sense of whether we're the right fit for each other. You can easily do this through the contact page. Once availability is confirmed, your date is secured with a signed contract and 50% retainer.

T A S T I N G + D E S I G N
C O N S U L T A T I O N | It all starts with you. Over coffee and four cake flavors, we talk about your story, personalities, aesthetic, and the details that make your relationship uniquely yours. We’ll also explore the visual direction of your celebration and your planner’s design deck. I’ll do some real-time conceptual sketching as we begin to explore the direction of your final sculptural piece.

Booking this session before placing a retainer is $200.

T R A N S L A T I O N | Following our consultation, I take everything we've discussed—your story, aesthetic, and the visual direction of the celebration—and translate it into one singular, fully realized cake design that could only belong to you. This will be presented in a formal proposal within 2 weeks of our consultation. Final payment is due no later than 30 days prior to the event.

T H E R E V E A L | In the final days leading up to your event, I will begin hand crafting your flowers and decorations, sourcing your ingredients, and then physically creating your personalized sculpture from the table up. I will personally deliver and install your cake, working alongside your planner to ensure it is presented exactly as intended.

PRICING

Commissions begin at $2000. Your investment informs the scale and complexity of the finished sculpture, allowing the design to be developed without compromising the creative direction. Within your design proposal, details on your final cake price will be presented.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What designs do you offer? | My artistic style is rooted in nature, architecture, and organic movement. The final expression is always driven by the couple and the visual language of their celebration. Some of my favorite mediums used to create cakes are wafer paper, fondant, rice paper, modeling chocolate, and sugar paste. I do not offer designs with fresh flowers, fruit, or vintage-style piping.

How far in advance should I book my cake? |‍ ‍Typically, wedding cakes are booked between 6 to 8 months in advance. This amount of time is ideal for availability sake, and so we can collaborate on your cake design.

Do you offer cakes with dietary restrictions? | Yes, some of the cake flavors offered can be made into gluten-friendly and/or vegan versions. Please reference the asterisks on the menu page for details. I work in a kitchen that utilizes raw wheat flour and gluten-containing ingredients, so I cannot create an environment suitable for those with Celiac disease. Cake samples with dietary restrictions are only offered once you’ve booked your event date.

How many flavors should I choose for my cake? | Personally, I find that 1 or 2 flavors is the optimum number for weddings. Too many flavors can get confusing for guests. I view flavors as a co-equal to your design, so being intentional with your flavor choice clarifies your messaging.

How much cake do we need to feed all of my guests? |‍ ‍I typically recommend an 80% rule, assuming your cake is served during the dancing portion of your reception. This takes into account those who are too busy dancing, full from dinner, or simply don’t eat dessert. But of course, if you plan on serving your cake as the seated dessert course of your meal, 100% + of your guest count is recommended.

Do you provide cake stands? | I do not rent cake stands, and oftentimes I do not recommend one depending on your design. If a cake stand suits your design, I will procure or semi-fabricate your cake stand and install it with your cake upon delivery.

Let’s create something that could only belong to you.
